The
access to health service bas a strong correlation with maternal death, as
higher the proportion of society who is difficult to go to the health service
is higher maternal death rate. There is also a strong correlation between
delivery place and delivery assistant with maternal death, as higher the
proportion of mothers to birth in non health facilities and delivery helped by
birth healer (non allied health) is higher risk of maternal death. The purpose
of the research was to determine factors related in choosing delivery
assistance place in the working area of Baturusa, Bangka region’s society
health center in 2011.
The
research used cross sectional design. The population of this research was all
deliver mothers live in the working area of Baturusa, Bangka region’s society
health center in 2011. The samples were 96. Dependent variable was choosing of
delivery assistance place and independent variables were education, jobs,
parities, and husband’s support. The data were compiled by questioner
measurement, and observation. The data were analyzed by univariet and bivariet.
The
result of bivariet analysis showed that there is a correlation between
education (p = 0.031), jobs (p =
0.022), parities (p = 0.034) , and husband’s support (p = 0.010) with choosing
delivery assistance place.
There
is a correlation between education, jobs, parities, and husband / families’
support with choosing delivery assistance place. The writer hopes allied health
keep increasing their role in giving illumination about delivery process to
pregnant mothers, preparing baby birth, delivery assistance, and delivery
place.
